Children and Young People's Counselling

Counselling for children and young people

Children also at times experience difficulties and they can of course can benefit from counselling, although it is important to reach the child from a perspective they can understand and this often through 'play'. I offer therapeutic play and creative counselling to children and young people.

Children and young people can access a variety of ways of expressing themselves allowing them to explore emotions, problems and experiences.

I am a children’s counsellor and therapeutic play practitioner I've worked with children and families for over 20 years. I have a special interest in Autism Spectrum Conditions, Neurodiversity, Epilepsy and Seizure Disorders, Sleep Difficulties, Selective Mutism and Social Anxiety.

What do I offer?
Through counselling I offer children and young people a way of communicating and therapeutic play, creativity and art, relaxation, sand-tray, puppet work, movement, creative visualisation, story and sound.

I also offer bespoke mindfulness and compassion programmes for children and young people. For families, carers and anyone working in the care sector I offer Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction and Compassionate Mindful Resilience courses.

I also work with parents, grandparents and siblings as working together as a family can allow individuals to gain the view of others and an understand the child's process.
